What goes into a TV-Series based course?

We take the meatiest, most engaging bite-sized pieces of each episode and work through their vocabulary, grammar, and complex ideas in a step-by-step way.

Why is it better than just a self-study book?

I will walk you through the whole of the episode as if you and I were working together. Each chapter consists of:

a warm up;

listening and language exercises;

consolidation exercises.

And all of them are connected by the storyline context of the episode.

Is it 100% listening-oriented?

We are boosting listening skills, right. To do this in the best way possible we employ vocabulary, grammar and speaking exercises. There are even proper writing tasks.

How do I make progress?

Each episode contains revision exercises and a consolidation exercise at the end. All episodes include exercises revisiting the materials from the previous episodes. So, you will be always on track.

How do I learn and enjoy?

I recommend doing the exercises first and then going online and watching the whole of the episode.

Where do I benefit from it?

in any day-to-day communication;

in a small talk;

in chats with your friends;

in the office: negotiations, pitches, establishing relationships with your colleagues;

at the exam: advanced lexis + writing skills (IELTS, CAE, CPE).

About the author:

Hi! I’m Alexandra and I’ve been teaching English for over 18 years. Having a Master in Pedagogy and some sough-after Cambridge certificates (TKT, IELTS, CPE, DELTA) under my belt, I am learning and developing every single day. This brought me to forming an eclectic teaching style with lexical approach as the main ingredient. A deep understanding of how language is picked up and memorized helps me include hand-picked cool authentic materials into my classes, TV series included.

Here I want to welcome you to the world of TV series and their wealth in terms of day-to-day English. Being a huge fan of TV series myself, I make it a point of helping you to HEAR, NOTICE, and MEMORIZE some great stuff from modern TV productions in the most effective way possible. And I bubble with happiness at the thought that I can deliver this goal in an ENGAGING, CONSISTENT and EFFECTIVE way.

Just start doing the exercises, set your own speed and make use of the new skills in watching more great TV series. VOILÀ! You have an inexhaustible source of joy and knowledge!
